A series of prints about the sale and later landfill of Governor’s nee Noten or Nutten Eylandt or Illand depending on which historical source you consult. It was renamed after the 1st Governor of New Netherlands, Wouter Van Twiller who used 2 temporary Native American inhabitants in a trumped up sale for some beads, two axe heads and a hand-full of nails.

P.S., They, (the Native Americans) didn’t believe in land ownership at the time.
